I'm a Senior Staff Engineer with 19+ years in software delivery and 13+ years of Extreme Programming practice. Since 2024, I've focused on agentic AI-assisted development as a core practice area — shipping production systems with tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and OpenCode, and developing the context engineering, agent harness, and problem-decomposition patterns that make those tools reliable at team scale.
I bring established delivery fundamentals — Continuous Delivery, Trunk-Based Development, TDD — to this new space. I coach engineers, managers, and executives on how AI changes, and doesn't change, the work of building software. I believe software engineering is a social activity, and that the engineering culture around AI matters more than the tools themselves.
What I'm working on right now: founding NRC Health's AI in Software Engineering Community of Practice; building artifact-centric CD pipelines that compound with agentic tooling; advising leadership on emerging AI workflows.
Recent wins: replaced a third-party SaaS platform in 90 days with a 2-person AI strike team (10x performance gains). Built an artifact-centric CD pipeline with ephemeral environments solo, part-time, in 6 weeks. Moved nearly a dozen projects up a DORA performance category.
